About the Role

APTIM's Energy Transition is seeking an experienced Account Manager. This position is based in Texas, The Valley, El Paso and Abilene, and serves as a primary conduit to the market providing education and collaboration to stakeholders on behalf of the HOMES/HEEHR program within their region. APTIM's role is to develop and manage Home Energy Rebates created through the Inflation Reduction Act including the Home Owner Managing Energy Savings Rebate Program (HOMES) and the High-Efficiency Electric Home Rebate Program (HEEHR). The Account Manager will be responsible for networking with customers and stakeholders to drive program performance and goal attainment. Residential program knowledge and technical expertise in energy efficiency and electrification is required. This role will report to the Program Director.

Our consultants proactively collaborate with clients to define and implement strategies and campaigns around key business drivers, with the primary focus of finding and delivering high-impact projects exceeding expectations and meeting the unique needs for our clients.

The successful candidate will immediately assume an active role supporting the planning and operational activities for the programs. They will manage a territory where they will be the primary point of contact for stakeholders and will also coordinate with Account Managers in other territories. The Account Manager is responsible for utilizing existing community partners and building a network of stakeholders and customers targeting energy efficiency projects that align with the HOMES/HEEHR programs. The Account Manager will be expected to engage with organizations proactively to understand their unique goals and challenges and communicate how the HOMES/HEEHR programs can support those goals and challenges. This position will be a critical member of the team by informing overarching strategic direction and driving new initiatives and energy savings.

This position is based in Texas and will have frequent day travel within specific territories. There is the opportunity for travel outside of the area, sporadically, for conferences, events, and continuing education. The Account Manager must be a critical thinker, able to manage multiple tasks, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be able to maintain positive relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and partners. The role requires a person who is accountable, process driven, detail-oriented, and pragmatic. Individuals in this role will be expected to embrace a collaborative approach, take ownership of their workspace, and find solutions to challenges as they arise and be highly flexible to adjust to program needs. In this role, you will be working with others who are passionate about energy efficiency, clean energy and making a positive impact on the industry.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Work as part of a program team ensuring the administration, implementation, and verification of federally funded energy efficiency projects are successfully executed.
  • Develop reporting that aligns with U.S. Department of Energy requirements and provides operations leadership insights to improve operations.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage existing or potential organizations to produce qualified leads, layer services/rebates and/or improve the customer experience, driving project participation.
  • Connect regularly with organizations via phone, email, virtual platforms, and face-to-face discussions to ensure they are current on HOMES/HEEHR offerings and efforts, and to gain the organizations perspective on issues relating to the programs.
  • Lead and project manage initiatives that drive toward improved customer experience and participation in programs.
  • Develop and lead presentations promoting HOMES/HEEHR programs at various conferences, community events, or professional organizations.
  • Respond to direct inquiries and requests made by customers, organizations, and stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Deliver supporting information, collateral, and contacts to partners to support deepened customer engagement.
  • Be attuned to broad and local regulator, policy, and economic concerns impacting programs and bring these perspectives to program leadership.
  • Perform field QA/QC as needed within assigned territory.
  • Support contractor and application processing needs as needed
  • Frequent day travel and occasional overnight (depending on conferences, training or other opportunities).
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Ensuring compliance with all APTIM quality and safety policies as well as all OSHA regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of industry experience required.
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency and weatherization programs.
  • Experience working with any of the following stakeholders: businesses, contractors, utilities, CBOs, community leaders, retailers, program implementers, manufacturers or distributors of energy-efficient equipment or services.
  • Strong service orientation with the ability to work across multiple departments and units within an organization, external clients, and multiple stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent time management, project management, and follow-through; creative problem solver with strong analytical abilities.
  • Ability to absorb information from multiple parties and formulate necessary communications or decisions quickly.
  • Conceptual understanding of energy efficiency, weatherization, renewable energy, and the types of equipment, technologies, and building practices relevant to residential customers.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity.
  • Experience in the use of typical productivity software tools.
  • Strong quantitative and analytic capabilities to interpret data and solve practical problems.
  • High level of emotional intelligence and ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Commitment to fostering a collaborative work environment within the team and broader organization.
  • Exceptional relationship management skills.
  • Ability to travel within Texas regularly and occasionally out-of-state.
  • Must be a self-starter, organized and have an ability to manage competing priorities with established deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint.

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional experience working with a wide variety of stakeholders, such as state, local and federal governments, for-profit and non-profit organizations, utilities, multifamily properties and others.
  • CEM, BPI, QCI, PMP, or similar certification.
  • 3+ years' experience in the energy efficiency industry.

Pay

$90,000 to $110,000 per year. Compensation depends on several factors including: experience, education, key skills, geographic location of the position, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity among other employees within APTIM.
