About the role
We’re looking for an Account Manager - Broker to join our rapidly growing team. As the primary contact with our employer customers, the Account Manager uses data to understand Gravie’s client needs and suggests strategic opportunities to inform renewals and growth opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Build strong relationships based on a foundation of trust and expertise in health insurance and employer benefits
- Enjoy helping people find solutions and answers to their tough questions, and explain complex subjects to a variety of audiences
- Work cross-functionally with a dedicated Account Management team, including underwriting, Sales, and leadership support
- Partner with clients on strategic recommendations to inform renewals and growth opportunities
- Develop strategic account plans for clients to evaluate business needs and, as needed, make recommendations for changes to Gravie’s benefit solutions
- Facilitate kick-off meetings with employers’ populations, meet with clients regularly, and provide accurate and timely answers to clients' questions
- Conduct monthly reviews of each client's claims experience, providing updates and recommendations for cost savings
- Plan for and present quarterly progress reports on goals to the client and broker
- Conduct proactive and data-driven mid-Year Pulse Checks focused on intervention strategies, renewal planning, and performance optimization
- Present strategic renewal proposals to clients and negotiate rates as needed, working directly with the Underwriting Team and leadership to ensure a successful renewal
- Knowledgeable about Gravie’s marketing campaigns to leverage accounts for strategic upselling of Gravie products based on utilization
- Knowledgeable of all Gravie offerings and regulatory and compliance requirements, continuously educating clients about Gravie’s products and services
- Ensure new employer clients have a smooth transition from sales and a successful new client implementation experience
- Research and resolve client issues and elevated member issues from Gravie’s advisor team, ensuring resolution takes into account the “full picture” of the client
- Effectively use and document client information in our CRM system
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relationship or account management field
- Licensed in health insurance in your home state
- 3+ years of account management experience in the health insurance industry
- 2+ years experience using data to gain insights and make strategic recommendations
- Experience working in a dynamic environment and comfortable researching and solving problems with minimal guidance
- 3+ years of experience working collaboratively across several teams and functions
- Previous start-up or emerging growth company experience (extra credit)
- Experience with self-insured health plans (extra credit)
- Experience establishing processes and standards for superior customer service (extra credit)

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
