About the role
This position involves creating and maintaining strong business relationships with customers, reaching sales and profit goals, and selling products and services to industrial and construction customers.
Responsibilities
- Create and update business plans in Crescent’s CRM tool.
- Make regular in-person sales calls to potential and existing customers.
- Introduce and demonstrate new products to customers.
- Assist customers with pricing and bill of material issues.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with construction customers and suppliers.
- Resolve customer requests and problems promptly and professionally.
- Communicate competitive conditions, customer feedback, and financial weaknesses to management.
- Collaborate with suppliers for mutual business opportunities.
- Sell products and services ethically and professionally.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with 4 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous experience in wholesale electrical distribution industry.
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel up to 25% of the time, including overnight stays.
- Comprehensive computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Product knowledge and ability to work quickly and accurately under time constraints.
- Interpersonal and organizational skills, self-starter, detail-oriented, and effective communication abilities (verbal and written).
Pay
The expected rate of pay for this position is $55,000 - $85,000 annually, inclusive of base/draw plus significant sales commission opportunity.
Physical Demands
- Often standing, walking, bending, reaching, climbing, and stooping.
- Frequent lifting and carrying 21-50 lbs.
- Occasional lifting and carrying 51-100 lbs.
- Continuous lifting and carrying 1-20 lbs.
- Use of hands/fingers often needed.
- Use of technology (Phone, computer, printer, keyboard).
