Overview
An Account Executive plays an important role in the execution and management of client projects, including media outreach; interfacing with client representatives; and supervising team members.
Responsibilities
- Manage client PR projects
- Understand the resources and tools needed to achieve the clients’ marketing/PR objectives; complete tasks that meet objectives
- Coordinate internal and external resources, vendors, etc.
- Advise team members on developments; proactively update the team on status
- Make recommendations for ways to meet client needs
- Plan and manage logistics for client press events and serve as a representative of the client and agency on-site
- Be conscious of clients’ program budgets and keep time and expenses on-track
- Attend client calls and meetings
- Interface with clients
- Accommodate and anticipate client needs
- Respond to requests for information from clients in a timely manner
- Conduct traditional and social media relations outreach
- Demonstrate an understanding of the media landscape, including social media, and how to use these to drive brand awareness and engagement for clients
- Draft press materials; proofread and edit press materials created by team members
- Engage with reporters and bloggers, secure media placements
- Build and maintain relationships with traditional and social media contacts on behalf of the agency and clients
- Review program results to provide analysis
- Assist in the development of creative ideas and tactical elements for client programs
- Participate in agency brainstorm sessions for client programs
- Develop strategic/creative thinking skills
- Actively participate in agency committees or departments as designated/asked
- Participate in agency projects and events
- Assist in the creation of new business and/or business renewal presentations
- Develop and foster relationships with suppliers
- Assist with account administration tasks, as needed, such as compilation of media coverage reports, coordination and set-up of client meetings, product shipments, etc.
Ability to:
- Understand the clients’ business and relevant industry trends, and use the information to inform interactions and program development
- Manage multiple projects across multiple accounts
- Prioritize work, meet deadlines and actively communicate progress and deliverables (i.e. time management)
- Travel to client and event locations; meet with clients at their office locations/headquarters
- Demonstrate solid writing, editing, presentation and interpersonal communication skills
- Show integrity and good judgment when working with colleagues and clients
Qualifications
- B.A. in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or the like
- Two (2) to three (3) years of experience in a public relations agency or similar position
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Pay
The target range of base compensation for this role is $60,000 - $70,000. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
