About the role

This role supports the growth and retention of state government accounts through direct sales and account management activities. Primary functions include selling to state government clients, renewing contracts, and increasing customer satisfaction to drive revenue growth. The role focuses on strategic relationship building and prospecting within the state government sector. Success is measured by meeting sales targets, renewal rates, customer retention, and other business-building metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Generate new sales opportunities and achieve monthly sales and renewal targets through proactive outreach to state government accounts.
  • Establish and maintain customer relationships to increase account base and drive revenue growth through account analysis and upsell opportunities.
  • Complete ongoing training to maintain current knowledge of products, services, and sales techniques to support effective customer engagement.
  • Demonstrate professional and ethical conduct in interactions with customers and colleagues to support a collaborative work environment.
  • Perform other duties or projects as assigned by business management.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (Required).
  • 4+ years of experience selling to Government (State and Local) accounts (Preferred).
  • 4+ years of extensive customer service experience (Preferred).
  • 4+ years of business markets sales experience (Preferred).
  • 4+ years of wireless industry sales experience (Preferred).
  • 4+ years of telesales or technical sales experience (Preferred).
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Travel is required for this role.

  • Building Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders (Required).
  • Negotiation: Skillfully negotiate terms and agreements to achieve favorable outcomes (Required).
  • CRM and Microsoft Office: Proficiency in using CRM systems such as Salesforce and Microsoft Office products, especially Excel, for data analysis and reporting (Required).

Pay

Total Target Cash Pay Range: $130,100 - $234,600, inclusive of target incentives.

Base Pay Range: $78,060 - $140,760. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on work location, qualifications, and experience.

Employees in regular, non-temporary Retail and Business Sales roles are eligible for monthly or quarterly sales incentives.
