We are seeking a high-performing Account Executive to join our dynamic SLED North Texas sales team. You will empower Local Government, K12, and Higher Education customers to achieve their most ambitious goals, driving meaningful change within the communities and institutions we serve.
Your Impact
As a Portfolio Account Executive, you will manage a growth-focused territory within the K12, Higher Education, and Local Government sectors, utilizing a channel-based go-to-market model. You will act as a strategic hunter, identifying new opportunities while deepening penetration within your target account list. By operating with a customer-first mindset in a matrixed environment, you will orchestrate complex deals, foster long-term partnerships, and deliver value that ensures mutual success.
Key Performance Indicators: Sustained portfolio growth, account expansion, and client retention.
What You'll Do
- Strategic Account Orchestration: Serve as the primary influencer and account owner, aligning Cisco's full product portfolio with customer roadmaps to drive cross-architectural growth.
- Sales Lifecycle Management: Build a robust sales funnel through proactive prospecting, accurate CRM management, and data-driven forecasting.
- Technical Expertise: Maintain deep proficiency in core secure networking (switching, wireless, routing, and firewalls) to articulate Cisco's market differentiation.
- Complex Deal Navigation: Orchestrate multi-faceted deal cycles involving diverse stakeholders, navigating commercial, legal, and technical requirements to secure win-win outcomes.
- Consultative Engagement: Lead executive-level discussions, championing business transformation and demonstrating the ROI of Cisco solutions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Portfolio Solution Engineers, specialist teams, and internal stakeholders (Rev Ops, Finance, Legal) to optimize workflows and deliver seamless customer experiences.
- Market Intelligence: Leverage competitive insights and industry trends to refine sales strategies and provide strategic recommendations to both internal teams and customers.
Minimum Qualifications
- 7+ years of proven experience in sales, prospecting, and managing an account base.
- Demonstrated track record of success in territory management, demand generation, partner development, strategic account planning, and consistent quota attainment.
- Expertise in communicating transformational business solutions via high-impact sales presentations.

Pay & Benefits
Salary Range: $259,900.00 – $351,700.00 (starting range for new hires in U.S./Canada locations, not including incentive compensation, equity, or benefits). Individual pay determined by hiring location, market conditions, job-related skillset, experience, qualifications, education, certifications, and/or training.
Incentive Compensation (Sales Plans): Performance-based incentive pay on top of base salary, split between quota and non-quota components.
- For quota-based incentive pay: 0.75% of incentive target per 1% revenue attainment up to 50% of quota; 1.5% of incentive target per 1% attainment between 50% and 75%; 1% of incentive target per 1% attainment between 75% and 100%; once above 100% attainment, incentive rates at or above 1% per 1% attainment with no cap.
- For non-quota-based sales elements (e.g., strategic sales objectives): 0% up to 125% of target.
- No minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.

- Vacation: Non-exempt employees receive 16 days per full calendar year (accrued at 4.92 hours per pay period); Exempt employees participate in flexible vacation time off program (no defined limit, subject to availability and business limitations)
- 80 hours of sick time off provided on hire date and each January 1st thereafter, with up to 80 hours of unused sick time carried forward
- Additional paid time away may be requested for critical/emergency family issues
- Optional 10 paid days per full calendar year to volunteer
Annual Bonuses: Non-sales roles eligible for annual bonuses subject to Cisco's policies.
Location-Specific Full Salary Ranges:
- New York City Metro Area: $292,000.00 – $440,900.00
- Non-Metro New York State & Washington State: $269,300.00 – $411,100.00
For quota-based sales roles, ranges provided include base pay and sales target incentive compensation combined. Employees in Illinois participate in a unique time off program to meet local requirements.
