About the role

Savvas Learning Company is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Sales Executive to drive the adoption and growth of our college and workforce readiness products within two-year institutions and various Post Secondary environments. This role will involve building strong relationships with key stakeholders, understanding their unique needs, and effectively positioning our solutions to support student success in foundational academic skills and beyond. This position will support our West territory including Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington. Ideal candidates will reside near a large travel hub in the territory.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and cultivate new sales opportunities within community colleges and vocational-technical schools.
  • Post Secondary Sales: Workforce, Adult Education, and Corrections.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed revenue targets in assigned territories.
  • Present and demonstrate our college readiness products to decision-makers, including administrators, faculty, and curriculum developers.
  • Understand the diverse student populations served by two-year institutions and tailor product recommendations to meet their specific needs, particularly concerning foundational math, literacy, critical thinking, and study skills.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., product development, marketing, customer success) to ensure client satisfaction, product efficacy, and to provide insights into product needs.
  • Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and educational policy changes affecting two-year institutions.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions in our CRM system.
  • Participate in industry conferences and events to represent the company.
  • Identify and collaborate with decision-makers to deliver impactful solutions that significantly boost student achievement and foster academic success.
  • Develop multi-year business plans incorporating customer needs and funding criteria to support organizational goals.
  • Uncover and seize new opportunities while cross-selling our products to drive significant client acquisition.
  • Prepare detailed sales and pipeline reports to monitor secured and potential sales using strategic analytics, management development, government relations, customer service and marketing.
  • Work closely with the marketing, government relations, product, and customer service teams to ensure alignment and provide input on product development and marketing strategies to generate leads.

Qualifications

  • B.A. degree or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience in sales required; prior work in career and technical education publishing, Community Colleges and/or industry preferred.
  • Experience working with or knowledge of two-year institutions (community colleges, vocational-technical schools) is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of college readiness concepts and the challenges faced by students requiring foundational academic support.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build rapport and establish strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Other Requirements

  • Frequent travel up to 70% is a significant part of this role, especially during peak times. This will involve overnight stays and working hours that typically extend beyond the traditional business hours, including evenings and weekends. Must have flexibility in travel and readiness to adjust plans as required to meet business needs, sometimes at short notice, are essential for this role.
  • Ability to sit or stand at a personal computer for a reasonable amount of time, typing and reading as well as when presenting.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to a changing organization and a changing marketplace.
  • The ability to handle a high volume of work in a short time, handle multiple priorities simultaneously, and operate in a demanding work environment is important.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality are critical to successful performance in this role.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Pay

Hiring Range: $80,000 - $110,000. This role may also be eligible for bonus or incentive compensation.
