Account Executive, Cold Chain Packaging
Our Account Executive, Cold Chain Packaging position targets, acquires, and closes high-value revenue opportunities at local and regional companies within an assigned vertical. This role requires a “hunter” approach to develop relationships with Packaging, Operations, and Procurement decision-makers at targeted accounts aligned with Veritiv’s strategy. After closing and onboarding, the Account Executive hands off relationship management to Sales and Program Management teams.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with Veritiv Sales Leadership and Regional Specialists to set strategy, determine target vertical opportunities, and develop business aligned with overall sales goals and quotas.
- Collaborate with Veritiv Leadership and Regional Specialists to identify opportunities, develop sales ideas, and sell the Veritiv value proposition.
- Communicate with clients to gather information about project goals, budgets, and outcomes.
- Partner with Regional Sales Professionals and Specialists to close opportunities and transition transactional activities for smooth handoffs.
- Develop proposals targeted at key customer decision-makers to deliver value to identified prospects.
- Maintain a robust pipeline of potential local and regional opportunities at all stages of the sales cycle.
- Participate in business reviews and other customer functions as needed.
- Consult with company legal representatives to develop contracts and agreements protecting company interests.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Experience in developing, implementing, and executing plans to generate new business in targeted market segments and prospects.
- Experience selling to accounts within the identified vertical market.
- 7-10 years of proven business development and/or cold chain packaging experience preferred.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Customer-focused mindset with strong product and market knowledge.
- Strong financial acumen and analytical skills.
- Drive for results and ability to manage multiple projects under pressure.
- Ability to adapt to sudden changes in the work environment and work efficiently.
- Basic experience with office and operational systems.
- Excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills.
- Experience interpreting strategy and policy to set and deliver objectives.
- Experience planning, managing, and organizing resources within short to medium timescales.
- Strong customer service skills (friendly, courteous, and helpful).
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- 5-10 years of related job experience.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Physical Requirements
- A significant portion of the job involves computer work, requiring continuous use of fingers, hands, wrists, and sitting for long periods.
- Frequent lifting and/or moving of up to 10 pounds.
- Work in an office environment as well as travel to customers, suppliers, and group meetings.
Pay
$130-150k base salary plus bonus.
