About the Role

BWC's core hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, however, daily start/end times may vary based on operational need across BWC departments. Most positions perform work on-site at one of BWC's seven offices across the state. BWC offers flex-time work schedules that allow an employee to start the day as early as 7:00am or as late as 8:30am. Flex-time schedules are based on operational need and require supervisor approval.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Provide customer service by handling Other States Coverage phone calls and emails regarding program requirements, assisting with Acord forms, creating certificates, and answering routine audit billing questions.
  • Manage the Other States Coverage email box and respond to inquiries regarding applications, required documents, audits, and program details.
  • Process Other States Coverage applications by sending application forms, entering new submissions into the system, and assigning them to underwriters.
  • Prepare policy renewals to include creating renewal workbooks and folders.
  • Assist with Other States Coverage audits by selecting audit types, ordering physical audits, performing follow-ups, and routing audit documents upon receipt and completion.

Qualifications

To qualify, you must clearly demonstrate:

  • 24 months experience in a position involving review and processing of claims, collections, billings, payments, or review of documents for accuracy, completeness, and/or compliance with reporting guidelines, laws, or rules with experience commensurate to duties to be assigned.
  • OR 16 semester or 24 quarter hours in accounting; 12 months experience in accounting or other fiscal/financial activity.
  • OR 12 months experience as Accountant/Examiner 1, 66111, with state government experience commensurate with duties to be assigned.
  • OR equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

Skills

  • Knowledge of accounting; applicable state and/or federal regulations governing documents processed, reviewed, and/or prepared; public relations.
  • Skill in use of calculator/adding machine, typewriter, video display terminal or personal computer, and photocopier.
  • Ability to apply principles to solve practical, everyday problems; gather, collate, and classify information about data, people, or things; complete routine forms and prepare standard reports and business correspondence; handle routine and sensitive inquiries from and contacts with other government officials, general public, claimants, and/or providers.
  • Note: Classification may require use of proficiency demonstration to determine minimum class qualifications for employment.
