Access Specialist II - ED

About the role

The Emergency Department Access Specialist II combines the responsibilities of the EDAS I with additional duties such as onboarding and precepting new hires or colleagues needing frequent support.

Responsibilities

• Train and provide constructive feedback to new hires based on the Training Manual.
• Accurately identify patients in the ADT system to ensure correct patient selection.
• Accurately verify insurance at the bedside for MVA patients and employees hurt at work.
• Manage daily workflow during system downtimes and ensure EMTALA regulations are maintained.
• Train peers and new hires on job-specific responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/G.E.D.
• Associate's Degree preferred
• 3-5 years’ experience in hospital or clinic registration, Emergency Department setting preferred
• Ability to keep composure in high-stress environments
• Ability to multi-task in stressful and high patient volume units
• Training and ability to train the adult learner
• Physical demands: standing, walking, sitting, pushing (35-50 lbs), pulling (35-50 lbs)

Skills

• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to manage contained blood, urine, and other bodily fluids
• Ability to handle a multi-line telephone system
• Reasonable efforts to protect information from unauthorized access and modification

Pay

Salary range: $46,215.00 - $60,080.00
