Access Associate, Full-time, Day Shift

About the role

In a customer-service oriented manner, interviews patients and/or their representatives to collect required registration data—including demographic, financial, and insurance information—obtains required signatures, communicates mandated patient information, and verifies all information for accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Manages incoming calls while providing necessary information.
• Greets patients and/or their representatives and provides direction as needed.
• Schedules and/or pre-schedules patient appointments.
• Interviews patients and/or representatives to complete the registration process as defined by departmental policy.
• Identifies services where no payment source has been identified; communicates financial-assistance options and/or payment arrangements.
• Verifies insurance eligibility/coverage and obtains necessary precertifications/authorizations when applicable.
• Collects/processes co-payments, deductibles, and/or other types of payments; provides cost estimates when applicable.
• Reviews charges in charge-review work queues for completeness and accuracy.
• Ensures accuracy of all data collected while meeting regulatory requirements outlined by departmental policy.
• Communicates with external customers such as payers, physician offices, and other departments.
• Accurately sets up new patient records via Care Connect.
• If qualified, may be asked to interpret on occasion.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• RGMG Only: Flexibility and transportation to other medical-group locations or affiliated locations required.

Requirements

• 2-year degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience preferred.
• Intermediate computer skills.
• Excellent customer-service and communication skills.
• One year of customer-service experience preferred.

Qualifications

Associate degree preferred. No licensure or certification required.

Physical Requirements

S – Sedentary Work – Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods.

Pay

Pay Range: $17.85 – $20.00 per hour
