Academic Year Math Tutor

Position Summary

Provide math tutoring to Upward Bound high school students during the academic year, Saturdays from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, and by appointment throughout the week, as requested by students. May occasionally implement grade-level specific college preparatory math activities and lessons.

Required Qualifications

• Involved in a post-secondary institution with a major in the pertinent academic discipline or evidence of equivalent knowledge and/or experience.
• Experience in tutoring, mentoring, and/or community service with high school level students.

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate of TRIO program or experience in overcoming the challenges and/or circumstances similar to those of the target population.

• Required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned (i.e., custodial, food services, or to make general observations of facilities or structures (i.e., security guard, inspection)).
