Academic Tutor II Part-Time (Multiple Vacancies)

About the role

Tutors work in the Academic Success Center (ASC) or assigned departments, offering one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions. They also assist with developing workshops and exam reviews, and participate in department meetings.

Responsibilities

• Conducts individual, small group, and remote tutoring sessions.
• Assesses, assists, and encourages students during tutoring sessions.
• Maintains tutor appointment schedules.
• Aids students in making appointments.
• Facilitates group study sessions (workshops, exam reviews).
• Participates in tutor training sessions and department meetings.
• Represents the ASC during classroom visits, orientations, and campus-wide events.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Advanced levels and proficiency in the subject areas to be tutored.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends.
• Ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds.
• Available to work a minimum of 10 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or higher, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Tutoring experience in subject area preferred.
