Pay
$17.85–$21.46 per hour, depending on approved experience.

About the Role
The Educational Assistant II assists in delivering instructional programs by helping the Teacher implement classroom activities, assess student progress, and reinforce instruction through small-group and individual exercises.
Reports to the Principal or Assistant Principal; works under the specific direction of a Teacher.
Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing classroom learning exercises planned by the Teacher
- Oversee group activity in the classroom, including short periods of whole-class supervision
- Assist small groups or individuals with skill reinforcement or lesson assignments
- Present teacher-designed subject matter to students through lecture, discussion, and supervised skill development
- Coordinate daily activities and instruction as directed
- Assist in proctoring student assessments and maintaining student records (attendance, progress, grades, IEP/PEP documents)
- Measure student work against clear rubrics or answer keys
- Supervise students in playgrounds, cafeteria, bus stops, and hallways
- Assist in classroom setup and maintenance of materials and supplies
- Correct student work and distribute instructional materials
- Confer with teaching staff or parents about student progress and behavior
- Assist in ordering, preparing, and administering instructional materials
- Prepare for IEP meetings and implement/track IEP data
- Assist in behavioral management, including modeling appropriate behavior and responding to discipline problems
- Accompany students on school bus routes, providing general supervision
- Perform clerical duties (word processing, phone coverage, file maintenance, public interface)
- Report safety, sanitary, and fire hazards immediately
- Comply with all District policies and procedures
Requirements
- One of the following:
- Associate degree from an accredited institution
- Completion of two years of post-high school study
- Passing score on the District’s assessment of reading, writing, and math skills
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- General knowledge of English language arts and mathematics
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
Working Conditions
- Work primarily in a school building (classroom, campus, and grounds)
- Must stand, walk, and sit for long periods; observe students across large and small spaces
- Attend to individual student needs while ensuring others are supervised
- Capable of quick movement and various physical postures (pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching)
- Dexterity to operate standard classroom equipment; sufficient eyesight to read materials and monitor student activity
- Outdoor supervision in various weather conditions
- Potential exposures: inclement weather, allergens, blood-borne pathogens, dirt, odors, dust, temperature extremes, erratic student behavior
Schedule
- 1 position: 5.0 hours per day
- 1 position: 5.75 hours per day
- Approximately 181 work days per year
