Academic Support Specialist (World Languages)

About the role

Implement programs and initiatives to facilitate student success via tutoring or embedded classroom support. Provide one-on-one or small-group tutoring in the World Language Lab, collaborate with faculty and student support services, and serve as the point of contact in the lab.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one or small-group tutoring to TCC students.
• Facilitate student success strategies in world languages courses through embedded classroom support.
• Manage day-to-day front desk support in the world language lab.

Requirements

• 1-year certificate or training from a college or technical school in education or world languages (specifically Japanese, French, ASL, and/or Spanish).
• Bilingual in English and either French, Spanish, or ASL.
• Ability to teach Spanish, French, Japanese, or ASL.
• Experience with Microsoft Office 365.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent education preferred (degree in world languages is ideal).li>
• Degree requirement may be substituted with equivalent work experience.
• Experience with learning management systems to track and assess student performance.
