Direct Support Professional - Specialist

About the role

Partnership Resources, Inc. is seeking a full-time Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities in our day program. DSPs are key advocates who foster joyful living by supporting individual choice, skill development and community exploration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement activities that build life skills or offer social engagement through recreation.
• Accompany individuals on field trips and to volunteer sites – assisting people to explore and connect with their community in an inclusive way.
• Support a caseload of individuals – maintaining communication with the person’s home or family, completing daily documentation and participating in care team meetings.
• Support individuals using person-centered strategies in order to help people achieve goals and self-advocate.

Requirements

• No experience necessary. All training is provided.
• Multilingual candidates who speak Spanish, Hmong, Somali, Oromo or American Sign Language are encouraged to apply.
• Must be able to pass a background check with the MN Department of Human Services.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without a sponsor visa.
• Minimum age requirement is 18 years.
• Must be able to regularly push/pull/lift 21-50 pounds.
• Must be able to withstand 6 or more hours of standing or walking in an 8-hour workday.
• Must be able to assist individuals in activities of daily living including feeding, restroom assistance and other self-help skills.
• Must have basic computer and technology skills.

Qualifications

• Ability to transport individuals is not required.

• Knowledge of developmental disabilities and best practices in support services.

Pay

$17.50 - $18.50 per hour depending on experience

Schedule

Monday - Friday 8 AM - 4 PM (40 hours per week)
