About the role
The Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences, School of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences, Texas A&M University invites applications for two full-time, non-tenure-track Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor positions in small animal primary care medicine on an 11-month appointment, with an anticipated start date of Fall 2026.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical instruction and patient care in the Primary Care Service, utilizing a Spectrum of Care approach.
- Participate in the mandatory 4-week rotation in wellness, general, and preventive care.
- Utilize VMTH resources including digital radiography suites with PACS image storage, and on-site clinical pathology, clinical microbiology, and the TAMU GI lab.
- Engage in classroom/laboratory teaching (10%), scholarship (5%), and service (10%).
- Uphold the VMBS Code of Professional Conduct.
- Contribute to outreach programs and telehealth initiatives to improve access to care for underserved and rural populations.
Qualifications
- DVM degree (or equivalent).
- Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice veterinary medicine in Texas.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the general practice of small animal medicine.
- Board certification (e.g., American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, American College of Zoological Medicine, American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine) is favorably considered but not required.
