Academic Interventionist (2026 - 2027 School Year)

Qualifications

  • Experience with implementing individual academic interventions.
  • Knowledge of instructional intervention strategies and implementation.
  • Personal skills necessary to communicate and coordinate interventions with parents, intervention team, and classroom teachers.
  • A high school diploma with a passing score on the WorkKeys test.
  • A two-year associate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assumes responsibilities as directed by the principal, RTI Team, and Teacher/s.
  • Operates within school district policies and procedures.
  • Promotes a positive image of the school & district to the community.
  • Works harmoniously with staff and students.
  • Collaborates with teacher/s, RTI chairman, District RTI coordinator & School Based RTI team to provide appropriate interventions for students.
  • Implement all phases of individual or group interventions as assigned or directed by the principal & RTI Team.
  • Complete progress monitoring and documenting of academic progress & achievement.
  • Completion of records and forms as assigned by principal & RTI Team.
  • Communicate progress of students to intervention team chairman and students' classroom teachers.
  • Attend meetings and trainings as needed.
  • Assists in maintaining order and supervision in the classroom, cafeteria, playground, AM/PM duty responsibilities, etc.
  • Serves as an effective role model for students.
  • Maintain the academic, physical, and emotional needs of all students.
  • Encourage students to have positive attitudes about self, work, and growth of learning.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, controls; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Frequent use of specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee may be required to restrain students as may be needed to prevent injury to individual student or others.

Terms of Employment

  • Salary and work year to be established by the Board of Trustees.
  • Evaluation of performance will be conducted in accordance with the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
