Position Overview

A Distinctive Schools Interventionist will collect and analyze assessment data and provide push-in and pull-out research-based interventions in core curricular areas. An Interventionist will collaborate with classroom teachers and the Campus Problem Solving Team in order to coordinate instructional efforts.

Interventions 90%

  • Implement the DS Model and MTSS Processes
  • Build strong relationships with students and families and colleagues
  • Manage strong classroom procedures, routines, and rituals that maximize learning
  • Communicate frequently and consistently with students, families and teachers
  • Provide individual and small group student interventions and monitor progress in core curricular areas for all grade levels
  • Design, plan, and deliver effective Tier 2, and 3 interventions and strategies based on student need as co-determined by Campus Problem Solving Team
  • Utilize best practice instructional strategies and research-based intervention and curriculum materials to meet the learning needs of identified students
  • Support behavior interventions and progress monitoring
  • Leverage student voice in the design of the intervention and instructional strategies
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development in the required network reporting systems
  • Collaborate with grade-level Teachers, Interventionists, School Psychologists, and other specialists
  • Complete other tasks/duties as required by Distinctive Schools and the Principal
  • Engage in coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities
  • Attend and participate in required professional learning opportunities
  • Complete other duties as assigned

Data Processes 10%

  • Meet weekly with an assigned team(s) to analyze and respond to data and student work samples and assessments
  • Maintains data-based documentation of continuous monitoring of student performance and progress
  • Provides data and student progress to school teams
  • Administers diagnostic assessments and progress monitoring tools for students as needed
  • Analyze and use assessment data to design appropriate responses to support students in mastering grade level standards
  • Participate in problem-solving meetings and teacher-parent conferences regarding students progress or needs
  • Serve as a member of the Campus Problem Solving Team

Requirements (minimum)

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree
  • Substitute Teacher or Paraprofessional License
  • Technology demands:
    • Use Deanslist to support documentation
    • Familiar with cloud based software solutions (such as GoogleSuite)
  • Travel as required for training, professional development, and collaboration
  • Physical demands: Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 20% sitting, 50% walking, and 30% standing
