About the role
Penn State Health–State College is seeking a full-time, board-certified/board-eligible core faculty physician for the Family and Community Medicine Residency Program. This ACGME-accredited program with Osteopathic Recognition trains residents in an innovative longitudinal curriculum featuring one- and two-week rotation blocks rather than traditional month-long rotations, fostering continual learning across all family-medicine disciplines. The program boasts a 100% American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) board pass rate and is based at Mount Nittany Medical Center, a 260-bed acute-care hospital adjacent to the residency outpatient clinic. The medical center is completing a 300,000 sq-ft, 10-floor patient tower with state-of-the-art single-occupancy, acuity-adaptable rooms and new resident work, rest, and didactic space.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive, compassionate, and high-quality primary care in both acute and chronic settings
- Participate in resident and medical-student education within an academic family-medicine department
- Engage in teaching, research, and state-of-the-art patient care
- Collaborate in a rich academic environment with opportunities to join the STFM Residency Faculty Fundamentals Certificate Program and the Behavioral Science/Family Systems Educator Fellowship
Requirements
- Medical degree (M.D., D.O., or foreign equivalent)
- Unrestricted Pennsylvania medical license
- Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine
- Experience in an academic setting preferred
