About Alpha

Alpha reimagines the school day around faster learning, stronger mentorship, and more time for students to build real-world skills. Alpha hires teachers (guides), operators, admissions experts, school & curriculum leaders, and remote team members. Education work that pays like it matters: Alpha offers six-figure roles for people ready to help build a radically better school experience. A culture built for builders: Alpha is fast-moving, ambitious, and student focused. It's for people who want to improve the system, not maintain it.

About the Role

Alpha operates differently from conventional schools. Students complete a full academic day in roughly two hours using adaptive technology. No traditional lectures. No textbooks. Your role covers what software cannot: guiding Pre-K through 8th grade students in essential life competencies such as public speaking, concentration, and constructive feedback exchange. You'll spend half your time facilitating structured, hands-on workshops using prepared playbooks and narrative techniques. The remaining half involves meeting with students individually or in small groups, analyzing their adaptive learning progress via Coachbot analytics, and ensuring they achieve 100% of weekly objectives. Mastery is validated through Test2Pass assessments, not participation metrics.

During your first year, you'll manage a student cohort and become proficient in Alpha's methodology: life skills facilitation, individual motivation coaching, and mastery-based evaluation. Once you consistently maintain 100% goal achievement while sustaining satisfaction ratings above 90%, advancement to Lead Guide becomes available—where you mentor fellow Guides while maintaining direct student engagement. High performers in this position don't merely impact individual trajectories; they influence entire campus culture.

If you've spent years working with children through coaching, counseling, or mentoring and have longed to eliminate traditional instruction in favor of genuine developmental work, this opportunity is designed for you.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Facilitating one-hour life competency workshops for Pre-K through 8th grade students covering public speaking, focus, teamwork, and feedback skills (project-based and experiential)
  • Conducting daily individual and small-group coaching sessions where you examine student performance in adaptive learning platforms (leveraging Coachbot analytics), establish objectives, and drive them toward 100% weekly goal completion
  • Overseeing and assessing Test2Pass evaluations to verify genuine mastery of life skills rather than simple attendance
  • Adjusting your approach across developmental stages, from Pre-K learners requiring dynamic, kinesthetic engagement to 8th graders needing direct communication and rigorous accountability
  • Cultivating authentic connections with each student that create sufficient trust for them to receive coaching through challenges, distractions, and moments of uncertainty

What You Won't Be Doing

  • Providing traditional academic lectures or direct subject instruction (core content is delivered through adaptive applications, not instructor-led teaching)
  • Creating original lesson plans or curriculum materials (Alpha supplies prepared life skills frameworks; your responsibility is delivering them with enthusiasm and narrative skill)
  • Handling parent communications or administrative functions (Campus Leads manage these areas; your attention remains on students)
  • Evaluating homework assignments or coordinating standardized testing preparation (these elements are absent from our model)
  • Operating independently (you function within a collaborative campus environment alongside Lead Guides, Campus Leads, and colleagues who provide mutual feedback and accountability)

Academic Coach Key Responsibilities

Guarantee that every student in your assigned cohort develops a genuine enthusiasm for learning, achieves mastery in critical life competencies, and completes 100% of academic objectives through adaptive learning technology.

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of direct experience with Pre-K–8 students in teaching, coaching, counseling, or youth program management capacities

  • Capability to facilitate compelling live workshops and communicate with enthusiasm, precision, and strong presence across the Pre-K–8 developmental spectrum
  • Confidence in engaging reluctant learners, upholding rigorous expectations, and thriving in a non-traditional, coaching-centered educational environment rather than conventional instructional settings

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Background in youth sports coaching, residential camp programs, or after-school initiatives where you held direct responsibility for driving students toward measurable objectives
