About the role
FVI School of Nursing & Technology seeks an Academic Advisor to support students in achieving their career goals.
Responsibilities
- Provide academic advising and support to a caseload of students
- Monitor student attendance, academic progress, and retention indicators
- Conduct regular outreach to students through various methods
- Aid students in developing academic success plans and overcoming barriers to completion
- Collaborate with faculty, admissions, financial aid, and student services teams
- Maintain accurate student records and document advising interactions
- Counsel students regarding academic policies, procedures, and graduation requirements
- Identify at-risk students and implement intervention strategies
- Support orientation, registration, and student engagement initiatives
- Foster a positive, encouraging, and student-centered environment
Requirements
- Associate's degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred
- Experience in academic advising, student services, education, customer service, case management, admissions, or a related field
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with diverse student populations
- Bilingual English/Spanish required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and student information systems
