Responsibilities
- Under the direction of leadership, provides competent direct patient care based on established standards.
- Contributes to unit activities and supports enhancement of the care delivery system at the unit level.
- Supports peers in the delivery of patient care services and assumes an expanded role which may include charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities.
- Works with a multidisciplinary team of surgeons and APPs in a fast-paced procedural environment that includes EGD, bronchoscopy, ablations, stent placement, pigtail placement, and thoracentesis.
- Requires nursing experience with outpatient and/or surgical patient populations.
- Essential for success are strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work collaboratively with all members of the health care team, and compassion in providing quality care.
- Procedural sedation experience is preferred.
- American College of Critical Care Medicine (ACLM) certification is required or must be obtained within 12 months of starting.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license in the state of New York.
- At least one year of recent clinical experience in an ambulatory setting or surgery.
- Experience with procedural sedation is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field.
- Completion of a BSN program or currently enrolled in a BSN program.
