About the role
This role supports the Absence Management Department in handling Sick, Short-Term Disability (STD), Long-Term Disability (LTD), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Parental Leave, and work injury cases. The position involves coordinating data across multiple systems to process employee leave in accordance with company policies for both union and non-union employees.
Responsibilities
- Daily oversight of incoming and outgoing communications via central line or group email.
- Serve as an Absence Management resource for employees and business units.
- Provide high-quality customer service with accurate, timely information.
- Manage the Absence Management mailboxes, supporting tasks such as Sick Leave End Date (SLED) calculation, time coding, and wage information.
- Upload and file digital documents.
- Engage in interactive processes with employees and business lines regarding leave status.
- Support team projects related to leave administration and compliance.
- Utilize Microsoft Office, Teams, Excel, Adobe, and various vendor applications daily.
- Assign tasks including reminders for forms and return-to-work communications.
- Support the ADA (American Disabilities Act) accommodation interactive process.
- Collaborate with Third-Party Administrators ensuring compliance with service level agreements, federal laws, and state laws.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
- Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience on a year-for-year basis.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in absence management (short-term disability/leave management). General understanding of leave processing and applicable state family leave regulations and laws.
