ABM Operator
About the Role
Individual will perform machine setup and operate machines as needed to produce parts per print for customer orders at various workstations throughout the ABM Department. Complies with current ISO requirements, all safety requirements, and good housekeeping practices.
Responsibilities
- Perform setup on ABM machines, including tooling changes and adjustments to ensure continued conformance to specifications.
- Operate ABM machines, including loading bar stock, filling fluids, and removing chips from the machine.
- Ensure conformance with quality specifications.
- Troubleshoot machines and complete maintenance activities as needed.
- Assist in training others on operation and setup of ABM machines.
- Track components and tools used on ABM machines (e.g., hydraulic fittings/hoses, motors, drill heads, hydraulic cylinders, saw blades, drills, taps).
- Assist with scheduling machines by coordinating with planning/scheduling of production orders.
- Train additional setup personnel.
- Operate machinery according to print specifications, shop orders, and inspection charts.
Requirements
- Mechanically inclined – ability to work with tools and machinery, adapting quickly to both familiar and unfamiliar tasks.
- Mathematical skills – ability to perform standard mathematical concepts and apply them to machine adjustments (e.g., fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions).
- Reasoning ability – ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Computer skills – basic proficiency required for the role.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
