About the role

This position reports to the Production Supervisor. Operate rubber injection molding machines to fabricate rubber components and be responsible for the production of molded products.

Responsibilities

• Understand and follow plant safety procedures, avoid or prevent hazardous conditions, and wear appropriate protective equipment.
• Keep work area clean and orderly, maintain Lean 5S, and participate in plant safety objectives.
• Demonstrate ABB’s core values and group safety and integrity standards.
• Implement and ensure compliance with ABB’s code of conduct, global and local standards, tools, policies, and processes.
• Handle all aspects of molding operations, including work instructions, standard operating procedures, and revision control.
• Ensure quality operation of the process, perform quality checks and controls, including adherence to cleaning and maintenance.
• Maintain pre-determined efficiency, standards, and productivity rates.
• Prepare and maintain accurate production records and follow standard operating procedures.
• Track approved, defective units, and final product.
• Complete shift change forms with accurate and appropriate information.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to meet business needs.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Prior manufacturing experience or quality control experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform push/pull functions.
• Ability to work overtime and a weekend schedule as needed.

Skills

• Ability to communicate, read, write, and understand various written instructions in English.
• Ability to bend, twist, and turn safely.
• Capable of standing for long periods.
• Good hand dexterity and strong math skills.
