About the role
ABA Behavior Therapist/Technician responsible for the provision of direct one-to-one behavioral intervention to teach communication, social, and daily living skills and reduce problematic behaviors in the home, community, and school settings. Behavior Technicians will utilize interventions developed from the science of Applied Behavior Analysis and will be supervised by an experienced BCBA.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct client care in 1:1 and group settings utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training.
- Follows the behavioral plan developed by BCBA supervisor.
- Collects, records, and summarizes data on observable client behavior.
- Utilizes safe and appropriate handling procedures when working with clients.
- Maintains client confidentiality.
- Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment.
- Collaborates with treatment team including client, parents and caregivers, outside professionals, and co-workers.
- Maintains and acquires technical knowledge by attending required trainings.
- Collects data on all programming and writes progress notes.
- Adheres to Agency standards and consistently interprets and accurately performs all assigned responsibilities.
- Maintains acceptable attendance status, per Agency policy.
- Attends all staff meetings and patient care conferences as scheduled.
- Responsible for timely travel to homes and/or throughout the community, as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent (if RBT certified); BA preferred.
- 1–2 years of experience working with special needs children in various settings.
- Must be willing to train and become a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) within 6 months of hire.
