About the role
The Applied Behavior Analyst (ABA)/DTI Paraeducator works in a special education program with elementary aged children at Doolittle School with emotionally based disabilities under the direction of the special education teachers and school psychologist.
Responsibilities
- Implement individual and small group instruction to students with specific behavior programs
- Implement lesson plans developed by the special education teacher, school psychologist or BCBA to support student success in all school settings
- Manage and organize lesson materials, preparations and other functions to support each student's individualized education plan (IEP)
- Collect and maintain documentation for each student
- Follow behavior intervention plans under the supervision of the school psychologist, BCBA and special education teacher
- Participate in ongoing professional learning
Qualifications
- Candidates must hold a high school diploma
- Preferred but not necessary: Associates and/or Bachelors degree in Psychology, Special Education or related field
- Experience working directly with children with autism and/or behavioral challenges within a behavioral program preferred

Pay
Starting Salary $25.87/hour. Salary in accordance with the Agreement Between Cheshire Board of Education and CSEA/SEIU Local 2001/760 in Behalf of the Cheshire Paraeducators and Lunchroom/Playground Aides.
