About the role

The Marketing Manager is a senior marketing professional responsible for the coordination, implementation and execution of integrated marketing campaigns for UCSB Arts & Lectures. This position plays a central role in managing day-to-day campaign execution across multiple concurrent projects.

Responsibilities

  • Campaign Planning, Development and Execution: Manages and coordinates the implementation and day-to-day execution of integrated marketing campaigns across digital and print platforms in support of Arts & Lectures programming.
  • Project Management and Workflow Coordination: Coordinates and manages marketing workflows, timelines, and production schedules across multiple concurrent campaigns.
  • Data Analysis and Audience Strategy: Analyzes marketing data, audience behavior, and campaign performance to evaluate effectiveness and support decision-making.
  • Content Development and Brand Stewardship: Writes, edits, and refines marketing content across platforms, including email communications, web content, social media, advertising, and print collateral.
  • Staff Supervision and Work Direction: Provides supervision and work direction to the Marketing Specialist.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Arts Administration, or related field and/or equivalent experience/training.
  • 7-9 years advanced experience in marketing, including campaign planning and multi-channel execution.
  • 4-6 years experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and deadlines.
  • 4-6 years experience providing supervision or direction in a team environment.
  • 1-3 years experience with CRM systems, email marketing platforms, and digital marketing tools.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years experience with graphic design or visual asset development, including familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools.
  • 1-3 years experience in arts, higher education, or nonprofit marketing.

Skills

  • Advanced marketing concepts and industry practices.
  • Adapting campaign tactics to meet audience engagement and revenue goals.
  • Ensuring alignment with institutional priorities and brand standards.
  • Implementing campaigns across email, web, social media, print, and third-party platforms.
  • Monitoring campaign performance and adjusting tactics as needed to improve effectiveness.
  • Reviewing marketing materials for accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
  • Collaborating with Programming, Development, and external partners to ensure accurate event representation, timely approvals, and alignment of messaging and campaign execution.
  • Developing campaign plans, timelines, and production schedules for assigned events and initiatives.
  • Writing, editing, and refining marketing content across platforms.
  • Applying brand standards and messaging frameworks to ensure consistency of voice, tone, and visual identity.
  • Coordinating development of program book content and related materials.
  • Producing cohesive, high-quality marketing materials.
  • Analyzing marketing data, audience behavior, and campaign performance.
  • Interpreting results and providing recommendations to improve campaign performance and audience engagement.
  • Implementing audience segmentation and targeting approaches.
  • Aligning marketing efforts with sales performance, audience trends, and reporting.
  • Supporting implementation of season timelines and campaign rollouts.
  • Providing supervision and work direction to the Marketing Specialist.

Pay

The budgeted salary range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $97,200 - $113,400/year. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience; the budget for the position; and the application of fair, equitable, and consistent pay practices at the University. The full salary range for this position is $97,200 - $182,000/year.

Schedule

Work Location: 110 Castilian Dr, Suite 100
Working Days and Hours: Mon - Fri (9 am - 6 pm); Occasional Nights and Weekends
