91F Small Arms/Artillery Repairer

About the role

Working with a variety of small arms and artillery, the Small Arms/Artillery Repairer's primary responsibility is to ensure the electronic systems of these weapons remain operational.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair electronic systems of small arms and artillery
• Operate electronic and mechanical test equipment
• Develop skills for potential civilian careers as electronic mechanics, avionics technicians, or missile facilities repairers

Requirements

• Must be at least a junior in high school or have a high school diploma/GED
• Must be between the ages of 17 and 35
• Must pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards
• Must meet citizenship requirements (see NATIONALGUARD.com for details)

Qualifications

Preference for work requiring accuracy and attention to detail, interest in working with weapons.

Skills

• Electronic and mechanical principles and concepts
• Understanding schematics, drawings, blueprints, and wiring diagrams

Schedule

In the Army National Guard, training consists of 10 weeks of Basic Training and 7 weeks of Advanced Individual Training. Training includes both classroom and field work.

Pay

Non-prior service candidates will earn between $200 and $250 per drill weekend, subject to change.
