About the role
Working with a variety of small arms and artillery, the Small Arms/Artillery Repairer's primary responsibility is to ensure the electronic systems of these weapons remain operational.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair electronic systems of small arms and artillery
- Operate electronic, electrical, and mechanical test equipment
- Develop skills for potential civilian careers as electronic mechanics, avionics technicians, or missile facilities repairers
Requirements
- Military enlistment in the Army National Guard
- At least a junior in high school or hold a high school diploma/GED
- Aged 17 to 35
- Pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards

Qualifications
Preference for work requiring accuracy and attention to detail, interest in working with weapons.

- Understanding schematics, drawings, blueprints, and wiring diagrams

Schedule
In the Army National Guard, training consists of 10 weeks of Basic Training and 7 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, which includes both classroom and field work.
Pay
Non-prior service candidates can expect to earn between $200 and $250 per drill weekend, subject to change.
