About the role

The Small Arms/Artillery Repairer is responsible for maintaining electronic systems in various types of weapons used by the Army National Guard.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain electronic systems in small arms and artillery
  • Operate electronic, electrical, and mechanical test equipment
  • Develop skills for potential civilian careers as electronic mechanics, avionics technicians, or missile facilities repairers

Requirements

  • Enlistment in the Army National Guard
  • Age between 17 and 35
  • Pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Qualifications

  • Understanding of electronic and mechanical principles and concepts
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, blueprints, and wiring diagrams
  • Interest in working with weapons
