Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive and process incoming emergency, non-emergency, and administrative calls.
- Dispatch calls for service to law enforcement, fire agencies, and emergency medical services.
Shift Requirements
- Full-time position with a 12.25-hour shift.
- Average of 57 hours per week.
- Work any shift, including nights, weekends, holidays, and all scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
- In-person attendance required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Positive attitude and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate well to a diverse group of people.
- Willingness to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
- Ability to work any shift, including day (5:45am-6pm) or night shift (5:45pm- 6:00am).
- Ability to work weekends and holidays.
- Ability to report to work as instructed during departmental activations and be prepared to stay during the duration of the event.
- Be at least 18 years old by date of hire.
- Have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Be a US citizen, permanent resident, or possess an Employment Authorization Document (EAD).
- Be able to type a minimum of 35 adjusted words per minute (AWPM) or 10,500 keystrokes per hour (KPH).
- No felony convictions, and no current driving suspensions; Misdemeanors will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and disposition information must be provided.
- Pass a background investigation including driving record, employment history, criminal history check, credit check, education, training verification, illegal conduct (drug use, etc.), background interview, and professional reference check.
- Pass a pre-employment physical and psychological evaluation.
- Successfully complete Level IV CJIS Security Awareness Training within 6 months of date of hire and maintain the certification.
