About the role

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for 911/Communications positions. We seek motivated individuals to join our new communications center opened in 2020.

Responsibilities

  • Answering emergency calls and dispatching appropriate resources
  • Processing and maintaining records related to 911 calls
  • Providing information to callers and responding to inquiries
  • Maintaining a professional demeanor and communication skills

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to become a Notary Public
  • Pass background check including CVSA (Computerized Voice Stress Analysis)

Benefits

  • Starting hourly rate is $25.60 an hour
  • After 1 year of probation, top out at $29.72 an hour (with applicable transfer)
  • Longevity pay starting at 2.5% after 5 years, increasing by 0.5% annually until 25 years, totaling 12.5%
  • Hourly incentive pay for Officer in Charge and Field Training Officer positions
  • 15 paid sick days, 2 weeks vacation from year 1 to 8, 3 weeks from year 8 to 14, 4 weeks from year 15 to 24, 5 weeks at year 25
  • Opportunity to earn up to 5 additional paid time off days (vacation) during a calendar year
