84C Design Mgr

About the role

The Design Manager exercises discretion and independent judgment in managing the design of components manufactured by 84 Lumber. This includes interpreting and designing engineered components and panels from architectural prints to produce placement layouts and engineered truss drawings, as well as providing supervision, leadership, and development for the design technical staff.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and design engineered components and panels from architectural prints to produce placement layouts and engineered truss drawings.
• Supervise and direct designers’ work to ensure accurate and quality designs.
• Schedule design work.
• Manage and resolve customer-related design issues and other miscellaneous design issues.
• Develop designers’ skills to enable them to advance through the design levels.
• Communicate effectively with other teams, including sales, production, customer service, and management.

Requirements

• Proficiency in database software and design software, including MiTek.
• Experience with word processing, spreadsheet, and internet software.
• Ability to respond to common inquiries and/or resolve complaints from customers.

Qualifications

• Multi-family design experience.
