3rd Shift Sanitation Tech - Grand Rapids Location

Kent Quality Foods is a family-owned business operating in an environment of respect and recognition for a job well done. We are hiring for our 3rd shift Sanitation crew at our Grand Rapids location.

About the role

This position is responsible for carrying out and verifying sanitation tasks such as cleaning equipment and machines by removing meat debris and greases using high-pressure hoses to ensure a safe and clean start-up for the production team. You must operate safely and in compliance with food safety and GMP standards. The schedule may include weekends and is subject to change based on department and company needs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure equipment is operating properly and safely.
• Clean and sanitize all equipment.
• Maintain the entire work area in a clean and orderly condition.
• Accurately document work performed (varies by task).
• Assist in cross-training team members and co-workers as assigned.
• Follow all safety requirements including L.O.T.O. (Lock Out Tag Out) and proper use of P.P.E. (Personal Protective Equipment).
• Possess good communication skills and work effectively in a team environment.
• Mix and prep chemicals for sanitation activities in accordance with company specifications; ensure correct amounts are used.
• Perform general work area cleanup using a shovel and squeegee.
• Securely cover control screens and general control panels.
• Effectively rinse equipment of meat debris and light greases.
• Safely and independently mix chemicals for the foaming process.
• Adequately apply cleaning detergents to equipment.
• Thoroughly rinse equipment of all cleaning agents.
• Perform post-sanitation inspection of cleaned equipment.
• Perform pre-operational inspection of cleaned equipment with a designated quality assurance pre-op technician.
• Willing to work overtime and Saturdays if needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to frequently climb stairs.
• Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs repeatedly.

Pay

Starting wage: $16.50 an hour + $3.00 shift premium + $1.00 attendance bonus + bonuses + overtime opportunity.
