About the role
The People Operations Specialist supports the production staff to enhance operational efficiency. Reporting to the Director of Operations and dotted-line to Human Resources, this role oversees daily operations including staffing, scheduling, and managing timecards.
Responsibilities
- Understands and promotes Salm Partners' core values.
- Manages production team, including staffing, scheduling, absenteeism, and timecard approvals.
- Communicates with talent acquisition, leadership, and trainers for successful onboarding and training.
- Affords assistance in planning partner engagement activities and coordinating staffing goals.
- Supports hiring managers in achieving staffing objectives and managing permanent and agency partners.
- Assists in updating Status Change Forms for timely staff changes.
- Ensures accuracy of timekeeping data and runs audit reports for timely payroll processing.
- Maintains attendance records and addresses issues promptly.
- Works to improve the work environment for production partners.
- Serves as an active member of the Safety Committee.
- Collaborates with support teams and other departments to optimize production and engagement.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A bachelor's or associate degree in Business with an emphasis in Human Resources is preferred.
- Experience with Human Resources Systems and Time Keeping Systems is preferred.
- Previous experience with Sage financial software or related integrated ERP manufacturing software systems is strongly preferred.
Skills
- Bilingual (Spanish / English) is recommended.
- Exemplary communication skills and enjoyment of teaching and developing people.
- Strong attention to details and proven work ethic and integrity.
- Effective interpersonal communication skills, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, draft reports, speak effectively, listen well, and create an environment of open communication and collaborative problem solving.
- Outstanding computer proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Rational, logical, fact-driven decision making.
- Ability to exercise judgment with time-sensitive and confidential information.

- Strong initiative.
Other Requirements
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and caustic chemicals.
- Variation of temperatures ranging from 35°F to 100°F.
- Wet and slippery conditions.
- Noisy environment.
- Use of personal protection equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Regularly sits, stands, walks, talks, hears, uses hands for fine manipulation, lifts up to 30 pounds, and works in a temperature-controlled environment.
