3rd Shift Maintenance Technician (PARFLEX)
About the role
The Maintenance Technician job is responsible for performing more complex repairs and overhauls of equipment, tooling, and machines, following all Parker Hannifin Standard Operating Procedures and Safety regulations and practices. Also maintains and monitors plant systems.
Responsibilities
- Performs or assists with preventative maintenance according to established schedules; also troubleshoots and makes immediate repairs/corrections as needed.
- Performs and/or leads repair, overhaul of machines, tooling and equipment; may also collaborate with vendors in repair or overhaul assignments.
- This includes mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic repairs.
- Reproduces and/or repairs parts, holders, and attachments to strict tolerances utilizing Tool Room equipment such as lathes, milling machines, drill press, welders, etc.
- Maintains and monitors building systems throughout the plant, including but not limited to HVAC, fire protection, plumbing, compressed air and gas systems.
- Stays current with machine operation; learns instructions and specifications related to new machines, tools or equipment.
- Performs logging and documentation of work activities as needed.
- Participates in area and process team projects and activities.
- Performs or assists with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- HS diploma or GED required.
- Experience in machine maintenance required.
- Completed technical school coursework preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to operate line machinery, hand equipment and tools, hand jacks and forklifts.
- Proficiency in basic math skills.
- Measurement skills, including use of precision measuring tools.
- Attention to detail, and ability to troubleshoot for process improvement.
- Effective English communication and listening skills.
Physical Demands
- Standing: Ability to stand for 8+ hours during a shift.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Ability to wear required PPE such as safety shoes, eye protection (glasses/goggles), hearing protection, safety vests, and gloves.
- Repetitive Motions: Frequent use of hands for tasks such as using safety scissors, bending tubing, taping tube, and connecting hose assemblies.
- Sorting: Ability to sort items by size, shape, and color.
- Physical Movements: Includes pushing, pulling, kneeling, and squatting as part of daily duties.
- Lifting: Ability to lift up to 45 pounds safely.
- Sensory Requirements: Must have the ability to perceive color accurately and hear plant paging, alarms, and other important auditory signals.
