3rd Shift Maintenance Lead (Fluids)

About the Role

The Maintenance Group Leader coordinates and provides work direction to assigned employees, ensuring adherence to company policies and MAHLE standards. This role involves leadership, communication, and support for maintenance activities while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Responsibilities

• Direct technicians in maintenance activities, including building repairs, machine repairs, preventative maintenance, and work orders.
• Work with outside contractors as needed.
• Assist the Supervisor with planning and communicating scheduled repairs to ensure smooth workflow.
• Create and close work orders and preventative maintenance (PM) tasks for designated shifts.
• Assist in training new hires.
• Ensure compliance with safety practices, procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Provide coverage for vacations and absences, including those of the Supervisor.
• Participate in developing action plans to address issues related to safety, quality, production, delivery, and 5S standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in accordance with 5S standards.
• Communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
• Provide input for performance reviews and monitor the work of the assigned team.
• Perform a variety of skilled maintenance tasks.
• Utilize basic record-keeping techniques.
• Work all designated shifts and maintain an excellent attendance record.
• Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Maintenance Technicians report to the Maintenance Group Leader for general work direction.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
• Maintenance certificate from a technical school or equivalent.
• 7 years of experience in a maintenance shop or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Fluency in English, with the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
• Ability to perform mechanical math functions, including decimals, fractions, weights, temperatures, pressures, and measurement conversions.
• Strong reasoning ability to apply common-sense understanding to instructions and problem-solving.
• Current, valid Tennessee Driver’s License.
• Ability to drive a forklift.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stoop, kneel, sit, stand, bend, reach, climb, and move about the facility.
• Frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

• Stand for long periods and use upper extremities to handle or reach.
• Lift up to 25 lbs. repetitively.
• Work under high heat and humid conditions inside the facility.
• Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and vibration.
• Loud noise levels requiring hearing protection.

Schedule

• 40 weekly working hours.
• Overtime is required, including additional hours and/or days beyond 40 hours per payroll week.
• Domestic travel with or without overnight stay may be required.

Pay

$37.69 per hour.
