3rd Shift Maintenance Lead (Fluids)

About the role

The Maintenance Group Leader will coordinate and provide work direction to assigned employees, ensuring leadership through clear communication, support of company policies, and adherence to MAHLE standards.

Responsibilities

• Direct technicians in maintenance activities, including building repairs, machine repairs, preventative maintenance, and work orders.
• Work with outside contractors.
• Assist the Supervisor with planning and communicating scheduled repairs to ensure a smooth workflow.
• Create work orders as needed and close out completed preventive maintenance (PM) and work orders (WO) on designated shifts.
• Assist in training new hires.
• Ensure compliance with safety practices, procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Provide coverage for vacations and absences, including those of the Supervisor.
• Participate in developing action plans to address issues related to safety, quality, production, delivery, and 5S standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in accordance with 5S standards, both inside and outside the facility.
• Communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
• Provide input for performance reviews and monitor the work of the assigned team.
• Perform a variety of skilled maintenance tasks.
• Maintain basic records.
• Work all designated shifts with an excellent attendance record.
• Work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
• Maintenance certificate from a technical school or equivalent.
• 7 years of experience in a maintenance shop or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Fluency in English, with the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with peers, managers, and directors.
• Strong mathematical skills, including mechanical math functions, decimals, fractions, weights, temperatures, pressures, and measurement conversion.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Strong analysis, problem-solving, process, and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Dynamic communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized with strong decision-making abilities.
• Current, valid Tennessee Driver’s License.
• Ability to drive a forklift.
• Self-directed with the ability to work with minimal supervision and a strong knowledge of safety practices.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stoop, kneel, sit, stand, bend, reach, climb, and move about the facility.
• Frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

• Stand for long periods and use upper extremities to handle or reach.
• Lift up to 25 lbs. repetitively.
• Work in high heat and humid conditions inside the facility for prolonged periods.
• Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and vibration.
• Loud noise levels requiring hearing protection.

Schedule

• 40 weekly working hours.
• Overtime required, including additional hours and days beyond 40 hours per payroll week.
• Domestic travel with or without overnight stay may be required.

Pay

$37.69 per hour.
