About the Role
The Line Attendant prepares products and packaging to meet customer specifications in compliance with company policy related to GMP's and Safety.
Responsibilities
- Maintain area, equipment, and personal sanitation
- Prepare, weigh, carry, load, and space product
- Open and rework product
- Gather, review, and apply labels, stickers, and backer boards
- Review order specifications and assemble boxes
- Review order specifications and pack boxes
- Inspect Machine E stops to ensure functionality before production starts
- Perform quality checks to assure product is packaged according to customer specifications (price, label, packaging)
- Directly communicate with line personnel on order specifications and quality issues
- Palletize product
- Enter data on production reports
- Communicate safety issues to line personnel
- Productive use of downtime
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
- Produce products in a manner that exceeds quality and value expectations by following Good Manufacturing Practices and Safe Quality Food Program policies
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the manager
Requirements
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and related equipment
- Ability to make minor decisions based on standard practices
- Ability to read and prepare production reports and comprehend production worksheets
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
Preferred Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Ability to promote and model teamwork
- Basic computer skills
Working Conditions
- Constant standing/walking; frequent bending, flexing, or extending neck
- Frequent gripping, reaching, lifting, or pulling with left/right hands
- Frequent handling of material from floor-to-waist and waist-to-shoulder
- Frequent pushing, pulling, or carrying
- Required use of hair nets, ear plugs/muffs, hard hats, and/or safety glasses
- Repetitive work in a fast-paced production environment with average temperature of 50-60°F
- Product weight: up to 35 lbs
