About the role
EnerSys is a global leader in stored energy solutions for industrial applications, with over thirty manufacturing and assembly plants worldwide. This position sets up and operates MIG welding equipment to fit and weld fabricated sheet metal parts into fitted boxes to specified dimensional tolerances.
Responsibilities
- Inspect parts for defects from previous operations.
- Perform all duties and responsibilities referenced in the work instructions for this position.
- Read and understand drawings and blueprints; use a tape measure correctly.
- Flexibility to work overtime daily or weekends, or have your daily schedule changed with little or no notice.
- Other duties as assigned.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED, or 1-3 months related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents in local language, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to do basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide, fractions, percentages).
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilos on a daily continuous basis; heavier items require assistance from a mechanical device or another employee.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to frequently bend, twist, reach, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Work in a plant/warehouse environment with varying conditions.
- Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
Preferred Qualifications
- Metal fabrication experience.
