3rd Shift Case Packer

Operate finished product packaging equipment to prepare products and packaging according to customer specifications while complying with company GMP and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain area, equipment, and personal sanitation
• Prepare, weigh, carry, load, and space product
• Open and rework product
• Operate case packer and case erector
• Troubleshoot, clean, and maintain case packer
• Perform product changeovers using the matrix
• Review order specifications to assemble and pack boxes
• Conduct quality checks to ensure packaging meets customer specifications (price, label, packaging)
• Communicate order specifications and quality issues to line personnel
• Palletize product
• Disassemble and assemble equipment
• Sanitize lines as needed
• Enter data on production reports
• Communicate safety issues to line personnel
• Productive use of downtime
• Adhere to safety policies, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Safe Quality Food Program procedures
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the manager

Requirements

• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and related equipment
• Ability to make minor decisions based on standard practices
• Ability to read and prepare production reports and comprehend production worksheets
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)

Preferred Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• Ability to promote and model teamwork
• MES or SAP experience
• Basic computer skills

Working Conditions

• Frequent handling of material from floor-to-waist and waist-to-shoulder, including pushing, pulling, and carrying
• Constant standing, walking, bending, flexing, and extending neck
• Frequent gripping, reaching, lifting, and pulling with left and right hands
• May require hair nets, ear plugs/muffs, hard hats, and/or safety glasses
• Product weight: up to 50 lbs
• Repetitive work in a fast-paced production environment
• Average temperature: 50–60°F
