2nd Shift Case Packer

About the Role

The Case Packer operates finished product packaging equipment to prepare products and packaging according to customer specifications while complying with company policies on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safety.

Responsibilities

• Maintain area, equipment, and personal sanitation.
• Prepare, weigh, carry, load, and space product.
• Open and rework product as needed.
• Operate case packer and case erector.
• Troubleshoot, clean, and maintain case packer.
• Perform product changeovers using the matrix.
• Review order specifications to assemble and pack boxes.
• Conduct quality checks to ensure packaging meets customer specifications (price, label, packaging).
• Communicate order specifications and quality issues to line personnel.
• Palletize product.
• Disassemble and assemble equipment.
• Sanitize lines when required.
• Enter data on production reports.
• Communicate safety issues to line personnel.
• Productively use downtime.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
• Promote and produce products in alignment with Good Manufacturing Practices and the Safe Quality Food Program.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.

Requirements

• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and related equipment.
• Ability to make minor decisions based on standard practices.
• Ability to read and prepare production reports and comprehend production worksheets.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).

Preferred Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Ability to promote and model teamwork.
• MES or SAP experience.
• Basic computer skills.

Working Conditions

• Frequent handling of materials from floor-to-waist and waist-to-shoulder, including pushing, pulling, and carrying.
• Constant standing, walking, bending, flexing, and extending the neck.
• Frequent gripping, reaching, lifting, and pulling with both hands.
• May require wearing hair nets, ear plugs/muffs, hard hats, and/or safety glasses.
• Product weight: up to 50 lbs.
• Repetitive work in a fast-paced production environment with temperatures averaging 50–60°F.
