$33.21/hour Operations Representative I
About the role
Join a great company with an exciting Operations Representative opportunity in Shrewsbury, NJ. This is a union position with New Jersey American Water. The Operations Representative I must possess a general understanding of water utility field operations, a working knowledge of company policies, procedures, and safety practices, and familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations applicable to the area of responsibility. The individual must be detail‑oriented, capable of preparing accurate records and documents, possess strong verbal and written communication skills, and be able to operate a computer keyboard with speed and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete cost analysis and record/monitor investment and maintenance budget expenses.
- Process mark‑out requests in accordance with the Underground Facility Mark‑Out Program.
- Update distribution system maps.
- Maintain databases related to statistical data on transmission and distribution system operations and departmental records.
- Prepare and schedule service line installations and replacements.
- Prepare correspondence and documents.
- Respond to inquiries accurately and professionally, involving appropriate individuals as needed to resolve customer and company‑related issues and achieve the highest level of customer service.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Competencies: Plans & Aligns, Decision Making, Communicates Effectively, Builds Networks, Action Oriented.
Pay
Starting pay rate is $33.21 per hour. The position may be eligible for annual incentive pay and contracted increases as determined by the collective bargaining agreement, with opportunities for continued salary growth.
