What You'll Do

  • Supervise, train, and mentor a team of production employees on the 2nd shift.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to schedules, quality specifications, and company policies.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and scrap.
  • Maintain accurate production records, including output, scrap rates, and attendance.
  • Congduct regular safety meetings and enforce all safety regulations and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., maintenance, quality, logistics) to optimize production flow.
  • Perform performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to direct reports.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Ensure proper setup and operation of machinery and equipment.
  • Report daily production metrics and issues to management.

Job Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing production environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • A strong understanding of manufacturing principles, lean manufacturing, and quality control.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to troubleshoot production problems and make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Proficiency in using production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing setting.
  • The ability to work the 2nd shift schedule reliably.
  • A proven ability to motivate and develop a team.
