Job Summary

Ensures product meets company quality standards through various checks, tests, record-keeping practices, and communication to various departments. Responsible for ensuring that all products meet stringent safety, regulatory (i.e. HACCP, USDA, GMP), and company quality standards before reaching the consumer by monitoring Critical Control Points (CCPs).

Job Duties

- Perform a variety of tests and checks on products, including but not limited to: frozen temperature and line metal detector checks, x-ray/bag metal detector/ box x-ray/box metal detector checks, verify slicer blade conditions, complete product quality checks on finished product, and ensure proper date code information are on bags. - Inspect product at different stages of production run to ensure it meets quality standards. - Maintain excellent records of all checks and tests completed ensuring accurate data entry and information is available for audit or customer complaint research. - Maintain clean and safe work environment. - Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

Exposure to noise, temperature variations, and wet conditions including slippery floors. Exposure to cold by working in a cooled area and working with chilled product. Exposure to potentially hazardous/moving equipment. Wear appropriate PPE and other equipment as necessary or required. Exposure to high levels of dust from ingredients. This position will be rotating throughout every production line on a scheduled basis, and will also be trained as the backup position for the Packing Room Quality Control Technician.

Qualifications

Well motivated person with attention to detail, ability to analyze data, excellent communication skills to work with a diverse team, knowledge of HACCP program, quality focused, and an understanding of Brakebush products. Must meet Quality Assurance Tech Back & Task requirements. Must be able to stand, walk, sit and lift a minimum of 8 hours per day. Must be able to push/pull/lift up to 40 pounds. Complete and maintain required safety trainings and certifications (Lock Out/Tag Out, Powered Industrial Vehicles, Hazard Communication, etc.). High School diploma or equivalent. Computer literacy, with SAP and Windows Office suite experience a plus. Bilingual English & Spanish a plus. Strong communication skills and team-oriented mindset. Must be able to work with minimal supervision and maintain confidentiality.
