Areas of Responsibility / Tasks

- General Policy
- Responsible for training new employees and cross-training of existing employees on production processes.
- Must be a safety champion and model/enforce Ravago’s safety policies and procedures.
- Record and document employees’ training progress.
- Maintain complete and accurate records of employees’ timecards and PTO.
- Oversee the production personnel, including the training, performance, guidance, and improvement.
- Contribute to decision in hiring, discharge, transfer, and promotions.
- Identify talent and assist with building the talent pipeline.
- Participate in planning and implementation of department goals and objectives.
- Identify and document personnel achievements to assist the manager in quarterly/annual reviews.
- Ensure daily production schedule is met.
- Regulate workflow in accordance with the shift objectives to ensure maximum use of capacity and requirements.
- Absorb contaminated products and submit suggestions for production efficiencies.
- Assist with the planning and execution of the daily production projects.
- Absorb physical counts during the year.
- Update and maintain rail/silo boards after material usage.
- Oversee production to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Must be able to perform the duties of the Production Lead.
- Absorb suggestions from the Quality Coordinator for corrective actions.
- Absorb documentation updates for controlled documents to ensure they reflect the current processes.
- Supervise the allocation and distribution of materials for the production department.
- Update and maintain packaging usage reports to reflect precise, accurate counts of the packaging material levels.
- Absorb requests for overtime hours, vacation, and absenteeism coverage.
- Monitor the usage of supplies and communicate with the appropriate department when supplies are needed.
- Perform other duties as required (supervisor must be able to meet all essential functions of the Production Operator I,II,III position and Production Lead).
- Must be able to lift 55 lbs. repeatedly.
Minimum Qualifications/ Education / Experience / Certifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required. An associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred. Extensive relevant experience may be substituted for education requirement.
- Intermediate level experience with Windows based applications to include Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel.
- Experience: Intermediate level experience with Warehouse Management inventory systems and RF scanners.
- Must be able to handle responsibility for the packaging of goods at specified quantity and quality at minimum cost and according to schedule.
- Strong knowledge of production management processes and systems.
- Demonstrated understanding of warehouse management, inventory management, product flow and productivity standards.
- Forklift certification preferred.

Physical Requirements / Demands

- Must be able to lift 55 lbs.
- Have use of fingers and hands for writing and typing.
- Occasionally reach with hands & arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending on the seasons.
