Planning and Development
- Captures manpower for Operations.
- Collaborates with production planning to optimize efficiency related to manpower requirements.
- Optimizes the workforce based on qualifications and shift requirements.
- Holds subordinates accountable and implements necessary disciplinary actions based on production guidelines and company regulations.
- Ensures adherence to safety, process, productivity, quality, and code of conduct standards.
- Directs the workforce to maintain safety, quality, and most efficient productivity.
- Makes recommendations and implements ideas to improve the production environment.
- Coordinates operators to maintain production plans based on call-offs, vacations, and other deficiencies.
- Collaborates with Production Process Managers to coordinate training to maintain optimal flexibility based on individual skills.
- Collaborates with Production Process Managers to coordinate and direct workforce for operator-based preventative maintenance in accordance with production planning.
- Directs the workforce to maintain a safe and clean work environment and align with business priorities.
- Lead contact person for all non-routine tasks, such as snow removal.
- Lead contact person on back shifts.
- Accountable for issuing, prioritizing, and aligning maintenance work orders with production planning and business priorities.
- Conducts yearly performance evaluations with subordinates.
- Trains all operational employees on job content, safety, regulatory, and customer requirements.
Operational Management
- Ensures the safety of all subordinates and visitors within the manufacturing area.
- Creates a safety-first culture to achieve zero lost-time accidents.
- Executes operational budgets pertaining to personnel.
- Adheres to all quality standards, including ISO 9001.
Additional Responsibilities
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Job Specifications:
- College education preferred.
- Requires a minimum of 10 years manufacturing experience in chemical industry. Preferably in coating and finishing technologies, including web processing.
- 5 years’ experience as supervisor in chemical industry preferred.
- Strong leadership, influencing, interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills to resolve equipment, component, scheduling, quality, safety, and personnel issues and concerns.
- Relevant computer systems proficiency in a manufacturing environment as well as with standard desktop computer software applications.
