About the role

Trulite is growing and seeking a Production Supervisor to be based at our Knoxville, TN location. A successful Production Supervisor ensures our manufacturing departments operate at peak efficiency while continuously improving output. This position oversees and conducts training for new team members, provides feedback, and develops their team. The role requires adaptability to changing business environments, departmental needs, and inter-departmental communication while maintaining confidentiality. This is a salaried exempt position reporting directly to the Plant Manager.

Responsibilities

• Conveys management’s expectations and direction.
• Trains, directs, and motivates employees, making recommendations to management on their behalf.
• Supervises and coordinates plant floor activities in manufacturing processes such as cutting, tempering, laminating, fabricating, polishing, insulated glass, or loading glass products.
• Assists in training new and existing employees on work methods, safety, and employee handbook guidelines.
• Inspects products to verify conformance to company specifications and directs machine setup and adjustments.
• Assists the Production Manager with performance reviews, disciplinary issues, material shortages, and equipment problems.
• Participates in interviewing, hiring, and terminations as needed.
• Focuses on retention, training, and development of hourly associates.
• Acts as the first line of command in resolving problems and maintaining efficient workflow.
• Ensures on-time delivery, manages raw material flow, and controls inventory.
• Adheres to product and customer specifications, employment laws, and OSHA regulations.
• Provides accurate and timely production reporting.
• Maintains strong working relationships with internal and external customers and regulatory agencies.
• Creates and maintains a safe plant floor environment.
• Identifies cost-reduction opportunities through process improvements, efficiencies, and staffing strategies.
• Applies 5S and Lean manufacturing knowledge to maintain and improve quality levels.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of supervisory experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in a glass environment, 5S, and Lean manufacturing (preferred).
• Commitment to safe work practices.

Pay

$63,500–$68,000 annually.
